故事的結尾，修女和神父住在囚車上。車子駛到路口停下，等候正接手另一宗案件的檢查官。四周有工人忙著清理厚厚的積雪。

我們聽到警察的對話。
「一個十一歲的男孩剌死了母親，還把圖片放上網。」
「天啊，這什麼世界。」

車外白茫茫一片，電鑽聲音震耳。

「這冬天是永遠不會完嗎？」
「始終會完的。」

一潭污水被揚起，灑在車窗上。

車上沒有咒罵聲、沒有人說半句話，水撥動了起來，不慌不忙的，撥走面前一片烏黑。

but we need the eggs

"...this guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, "Doc, my brother's crazy; he thinks he's a chicken." And, the doctor says, "Well, why don't you turn him in?" The guy says, "I would, but I need the eggs." Well, I guess that's pretty much now how I feel about relationships; you know, they're totally irrational, and crazy, and absurd... but, I guess we keep going through it because most of us... need the eggs."
